Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blue came to us from a Georgia shelter. His owner developed serious health problems and could not keep him. Blue is a friendly coonhound who's been treated well. He was originally adopted as a puppy and is trusting and likes attention from people. Blue has arrived in New England and has been staying at a local foster home near Albany NY. He's made a lot of progress with training. He is housebroken, crate-trained, sleeps in his crate, and will go in when asked to. Blue is friendly, fun-loving and super excited to meet new people. He loves to snuggle on the couch and is an affectionate companion. Blue can get over-excited and his fosters are working with him on commands to encourage calmer behavior. Blue has learned: sit, down, wait, release, crate, getting his attention in exciting environments, greeting people politely, not biting a toy where your hand is, not going for the food bowl until the trigger word. He's very excited to see other dogs when on leash and will bark and pull. He's not reactive in an aggressive way, but some dogs may not react well to his behavior. Blue's ideal home would be as an only dog; no cats please, older children should be okay. Blue is such a sweet dog. He needs some work still, but with the right folks is going to be the love of their life. Blue is 4 yrs old and weighs about 50 lbs.
