Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dozer was turned over to rescue after his previous owner lost him through the courts in a cruelty case. This poor guy has been through so much, yet he still retains the devotion and desire to please that his breed is known for.
He is so enthusiastic about finally having humans who are kind and loving towards him, and a chance for a great doggie life. We are working on helping him rein in his excitement a bit and stop jumping up on humans. Once he learns this, he will excel around children and the elderly, as he genuinely loves everyone. This handsome guy is happy and outgoing, walks well on a leash, and loves going for a ride, so would love to be your go everywhere possible boy.
Dozer has other dogs in his foster home, but he lacks social skills with dogs, so he should be the only dog in his forever home or have an experienced owner to help him continue developing these skills. He is not fond of cats, and that is unlikely to change.
He uses a doggie door in his foster home, so he has never had any accidents inside. He was at the vet clinic for over a week and did fine in a crate, but is no longer confined to one. He is treat-motivated and loves being a good boy; once engaged, he is a good student for training.
Dozer is fully vetted - current with vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

More about this rescue
Hillcrest Animal Rescue is a 501c3, non-profit organization dedicated to saving as many homeless, neglected and abused animals as our resources allow. All of our rescues are placed in loving foster homes and receive thorough medical care. Each companion animal is heartworm tested and treated if positive; placed on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention; altered and micro chipped. Every animal receives a full complement of vaccines depending on risk and immune status. Chronic pain is not acceptable with animals in our care. We will take whatever measures are necessary to ensure that all of our animals are living free of pain and disease. To summarize our belief in veterinary care, any animal at Hillcrest Rescue receives the same level of veterinary care as if she or he were the only animal we have.
