Sky von Surselva is a gorgeous 5 year-old German Shepherd with a comfortable, easygoing and very affectionate personality. She loves being with people and will happily greet you with tail wags and kisses, and she loves being petted all over. Sky arrived at the rescue with Nala von Surselva, and they would love to find a home together, or she would love the companionship of another dog. In playgroups, Sky is outgoing and sociable. She's a great greeter, wagging her tail and making new dog friends easily. Sometimes she'll give play boys to initiate the fun. (She says no to cats, however). Sky is housebroken and crate-trained, and knows some commands including Sit, Down, Jump and Fetch. She likes toys, watermelon and peanut butter, and this beautiful girl enjoys listening to music.
Owner surrender - no time for dogs.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Sky von Surselva YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
ADOPTION DAYS

If you have submitted an online application but have not been approved by our volunteer, please do NOT come down to meet dogs as we won't be able to show you any. No on-site screening at this time. Once approved and told to come meet dogs, we will be happy to help you.
