My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Naga!

If you’re into chaotic toddlers disguised as puppies, keep scrolling. But if you want a soul-soothing, fluff-filled companion who’s basically your emotional support throw pillow, Naga’s your girl. While other young dogs are out there doing zoomies and licking electrical outlets, Naga is curled up in a sunbeam contemplating the meaning of life… or possibly just meditating on how good she looks while doing absolutely nothing. She’s calm, she’s sweet, and she’s giving Golden Girl energy in a young Pyr package.

Naga: 87 pounds of fluffy serenity wrapped in existential wisdom and Great Pyrenees glory. At just 2.5 years old, Naga somehow skipped the “wild and unhinged” phase most dogs go through and went straight into her retired librarian era. She’s calm, gentle, and has the kind of peaceful presence that makes you wonder if she’s been reincarnated from a much older, wiser dog. But don’t let the zen vibes fool you—Naga’s story didn’t start with sunsets and spa days. She came to us after landing on the dreaded shelter “list”—yes, that list. Through no fault of her own, she was facing the end of the road before her journey even really began. Luckily, the universe (and some very fast-moving rescue humans) had other plans. Now she’s safe, grateful, and ready to find a family who appreciates a chill queen with an old soul and a heart of gold.

Naga lives in a house with five other dogs—yes, five—and somehow manages to maintain the same energy as a monk in a meditation retreat. Two of her roommates are grumpy seniors, one is an overcaffeinated puppy, and the rest are somewhere in between, but Naga? She floats through the chaos like a ghost of chillness. On walks, she sees other dogs and chooses peace. No barking, no lunging—just an "I’m too mature for this" attitude that’s honestly inspiring. As for cats? She hasn’t officially met any up close, but the outdoor ones she passes—and even the squirrels—barely get a head turn. She's out here ignoring entire ecosystems like a true professional. When it comes to kids, Naga's got the patience of a saint and the body language of a dog who’s been through it all. She lives with a teenager and has tolerated surprise toddler interactions mid-walk without flinching. Sticky fingers, high-pitched squeals, sudden pets—none of it rattles her. She just accepts her fate and lets the tiny humans admire her fluff. Guests in the home? Please. Naga doesn’t even bark. She greets new people with the same energy as a hostess who didn’t realize there was company coming but is too polite to care. And when the humans stop to talk during walks, she just plops down like, “I guess we live here now,” and waits for her people to wrap it up. In summary, Naga is calm, unbothered, and the living embodiment of “not my circus, not my monkeys.”

Naga’s energy level sits somewhere between a snoozing sloth and a house cat in a sunbeam. Sure, she’ll go for a walk if you insist, but don’t expect a zoomie-filled performance. She's more of a “sure, I’ll go, but only because I like you” kind of girl. She rides in the car like she’s royalty being chauffeured—quiet, composed, and unbothered. Temperament-wise, she’s basically your great-aunt Edna reincarnated into a fluffy 2.5-year-old Pyr. Calm. Sweet. Possibly plotting your bedtime. She radiates that “seen it all, still unimpressed” energy, and frankly, it’s iconic. And yard-wise? She’s not one to run laps or pretend to be a lawn ornament. She goes out, handles her business like a responsible adult, and heads back inside where the real joy (read: napping) lives. Apartment, house, castle—she’s not picky, as long as it includes AC. Leash walking? She strolls like someone who knows she has nowhere to be, occasionally pausing to sniff a leaf with the intensity of a wine critic sampling a 2002 merlot. Basically, she’s leash-trained with a side of curiosity. Long story short, she’s not for the high-energy crowd. She’s for the people who understand that "lazy" is a lifestyle and "calm" is a love language.

Potty trained? Absolutely. Naga handles her bathroom business with the quiet efficiency of someone who read the manual twice and made a spreadsheet. Naga and her crate have a very casual, roommate-style relationship, meaning she won't cause a scene with it. However, she’s the type of dog who could be left out with the run of the house, and your throw pillows would still be exactly where you left them. Because unlike certain gremlin puppies, Naga’s hobbies include not destroying your belongings and not causing chaos. Revolutionary, really. Barking? Prepare yourself for the biggest shock of all: she’s a Great Pyrenees mix who… doesn’t narrate every breeze, bug, or butterfly sneeze. We don’t know if she missed that part of the Pyr orientation, but we’re not complaining. She’s more “silent observer” than “neighborhood town crier,” and she’s fine letting Amazon deliveries come and go without a full press release. And chewing? Nope. Naga’s not here to ruin your shoes, your furniture, or your will to live Basically, she’s the kind of dog that makes you wonder why you ever thought raising a puppy would be fun.

So, if you're looking for a calm, low-effort, high-reward fluff who won’t chew your furniture, bark at dust particles, or treat walks like CrossFit—congrats, you've found her.

Now all that stands between you and your new emotional support cloud is an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app (yes, you have to fill it out—we checked, Naga can’t type) and a road trip to scenic Tulsa, OK. She won’t be shipped, airmailed, or beamed to your front door, so grab some snacks, queue up a playlist, and come scoop up your new soulmate the old-fashioned way.
