My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Prince was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on November 19, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Prince is a prince of a guy who brightens up any room with his joyful antics. Prince can be shy with new faces and places, but with a gentle and patient approach, he shares his affectionate and energetic personality. Prince is in a foster home where he has settled in very well. Prince likes both the resident dog and cat in his foster's home. His fosters have worked on house and crate training with Prince. Prince is a smart guy who gets it. Once Prince feels comfortable, he enjoys crawling into the laps of his favorite people and tossing toys around the yard. Adopting Prince means giving him the chance to flourish in a loving home where he can become the loyal friend he's meant to be! If you're interested in adding this sweet boy to your family, contact us today..

At SDHS:
Prince is a Behavior Center Graduate! This means they've been working closely with our trainers to develop skills through behavior modification to be successful, though they may need a little extra care to continue their amazing progress. We're excited to share with you what they've learned and talk through how to help them get comfortable in this next chapter of their life!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
