My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: DE

Sam is a small male cattle dog mix. He weighs around 35 lbs. and is about 2 1/2 years old (born 6/39/23). He is social with people and dogs and is crated when unsupervised. He has excellent recall and walks good on leash and is affectionate. His confidence has grown in foster care. He is medium energy and does initiate play with our dogs. Sam has a happy-go-lucky personality. He is crate trained and never barks in crate. He would thrive in a home with an active family and fenced yard. He has good manners and is a sweet boy and enjoys playing with toys and balls and loves tether toys.

He is current on all vaccinations, flea and tick and heartworm preventatives and is neutered and microchipped. He loves spending time in the yard in nice weather. We typically give dogs full access to fenced yard in nice weather.

Sam is being fostered in Wilmington, Delaware.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
