Once upon a time, there was a dog named Luna—a cuddly, playful, ice-cube-loving 3 year old pup with a heart full of love and loyalty. Luna is what dog lovers call a 58 pound Velcro dog—she wants to be near her people at all times, always ready with a tail wag and a snuggle. She adores belly rubs, playing with her little stuffed cow, and running wild and free in the backyard. While she does well with kids, those under 6 might be a bit too energetic for her gentle soul. Luna is: Crate trained and sleeps like a dream Friendly with other dogs Always ready to cuddle If you want a best friend who makes every day brighter, Luna is ready to bring joy (and ice cubes) to your life.

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
