Our story📖 begins in a lonely ditch where four tiny puppy girls were found. Luckily they were quickly swept into foster care! After months of thriving, growing and learning what it means to be loved, they are looking for their forever homes.

Griselda is a 40 lb, 8-month-old mixed breed girl, a true work of art..... mostly black, with striking white markings that create a beautiful, unique design. Her most precious feature? Two perfectly identical white spots on either side of her nose!
Griselda is a little on the shy side at first, but it doesn't take long for her sweet 🩷 personality to shine through. She's very playful and adores romping with her sister and she walks very well on a leash—ready for adventures with you!
Griselda’s New Year's wish💫 is a cozy home and a family. She dreams of a quiet New Year’s celebration—one filled with treats and snuggles and lots of love! The shelter is located at 589 Coolwater Drive in Bastrop Texas. Please come meet our pets Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
