Hi, I’m Lucy… and I almost didn’t make it.
I was sitting in a kill shelter—scared, confused, and running out of time. My death sentence had already been written. But then... at the very last moment, angels from 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue showed up. They were there to save a van full of dogs, and somehow, they chose me too.
They saved my life. But now I’m still waiting…
I've been in a kennel for weeks. No couch to curl up on. No human to love me. Just waiting. Watching others get picked while I sit behind a gate, hoping someone sees me.
I’m only 1 year old. I should be chasing butterflies, splashing in baby pools, and learning what it’s like to be someone’s best friend—not growing up in a kennel.
Will you be my hero?
I’m sweet, smart, and so ready to love you.
Whether you can adopt me forever or just foster me for now, I promise to be a very good girl.
Please, give me my second chance at life. Fill out an application today and let’s make this summer one I’ll never forget.

Love,

The dog who lived… now just waiting to really live.
Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.
A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
