Meet the Gilmore Girls! "We were found in an abandoned trailer in very unsafe conditions. Once rescued by our foster family, we started opening our eyes to see this beautiful world around May 12th, and boy are we HAPPY TO BE HERE!
Our Mom - who has already found her permanent place once we find ours - is a gorgeous Shepherd mix and very patient with us and our apparently very sharp teeth.
I started out what you’d call “back of the back.” I was shy for a while. But boy am I the front of, well, everything now! One of my favorite hobbies is parading through the house looking for any kind of packaging I can find— cardboard, plastic, etc. I have a special talent of peeling tape off boxes with my teeth. Even my foster parents can’t do that and they have thumbs! But my favorite of all time— grass and weeds! I’m pretty much the resident landscaper now. My foster parents are constantly asking me to put down my green snacks and I find it pretty rude because I’m helping with yard work! Don’t worry, I’m very sweet and easy to correct. I’m incredibly intelligent (I get it from my Mama) so I’ll learn your house rules quickly. I love to be rocked and have my belly rubbed, so I’m looking for a house that enables lots of play but also lots of TLC. We can watch a movie in your recliner after we go hiking!"
Lorelai is looking for a home with other dogs to help mentor her and play with her. Older kids may be OK in a home with a large-breed experienced handler as these pups grow by leaps and bounds and don't know their size and strength yet.
Puppies tend to thrive in homes where there is another large dog young enough to play, they have a private Yard, where they are not left alone or in a crate all day (making housetraining virtually impossible). Patience, time and training is required when raising a puppy - their are cute for a reason (otherwise no one would put up with them)
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
