Jammy Jam! While her past is a mystery it doesn't matter, Jam lives in the moment and has a pure zest for life. She's a senior gal but that doesn't slow her down. Jam's number one request is to be with her human. She'll wake up on your schedule and wait patiently for her favorite time of day, her morning walk! She does the most adorable tippy taps to show her excitement! On our walks Jam is excellent on a leash and polite with people and other dogs. She's been playful with dogs on leash so she may even do well with a doggy sibling! After our walk, it's time to play with toys or snooze in the sun in the yard. This loving and affection girl will wiggle her way into your heart as soon as you meet her and her unique look will make you fall in love!
My foster writes: Jam is truly man's best friend. Everywhere you go she wants to come with you radiating joy and gratitude that she's invited. She has the biggest smile and softest eyes. Walks will take 15 minutes longer because everyone will stop to tell you how cute your dog is. She can be a little impatient because she just wants to go from one adventure right into the next and she can struggle with separation anxiety when left alone. But it's all because she loves you and just wants to be with you 24/7. If you want a fiercely loyal companion who never takes for granted all that you do for her then Jam is the dog for you.
There is an adorable video of me on social media!

Jam would thrive with an adopter who appreciates her zest for life and can support her with enrichment, exercise, and structure. She's energetic for her age and loves to learn, so a home that can offer mental stimulation and force-free training will help her shine. Jam has some special medical needs, so a compassionate adopter willing to provide ongoing care is essential. A quieter home where she can be your one-and-only-or carefully introduced to other respectful dogs-would be ideal.
🐶 Good with Other Dogs?
Jam has had a variety of playgroup experiences at the shelter-sometimes playful and bouncy, other times overstimulated or reactive depending on the dog. She's been used as a greeter dog and shown appropriate social skills, but also needs space when she's had enough. With the right match and slow intros, she may do well with a mellow companion.
🐾 Leash Manners
Jam walks with mild to moderate pulling and can become reactive to other dogs on leash, especially in high-traffic areas. A front-clip harness and reward-based redirection are recommended. She's been working hard with our behavior team and shows great progress when engaged in training games like the "123" or "Take A Breath" exercises.
