My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zelda was rescued along with her babies and baby daddy. Their owner had fallen on hard times and were living out of their vehicle. They struggled to feed themselves and the animals. Zelda has NO DAILY MEDICAL NEEDS. She has medical SPECIAL NEEDS. Zelda’s estimated DOB is 12/18/23. She is spayed* and fully vaccinated (RHDV2).

Zelda transferred to us due to needing an expert/specialist exotic vet to be spay her due to issues under anesthesia. *They were able to remove her uterus and one ovary but her left ovary was too fragile to be removed. She is also very unstable under anesthesia. Any medical issues requiring sedation would need to be done by an expert/specialist exotic vet and only if worth the risk. She does have a risk of ovarian cancer in her remaining ovary.

She had a difficult start raising babies in a car living on leftover human food. She deserves a home to call her own. Could you be the right home for this very special survivor?

More about this rescue

USQKS is a foster-based 501c3 small animal rescue & sanctuary.

Our History:

Before USQKS, our founder worked in active Guinea Pig Rescue. From there, the active Small Animal Rescue journey started with a… mouse! From there, the journey to becoming a Small Animal Rescue & Sanctuary expanded to hamsters, gerbils, rats and more. That journey then led to chinchillas and last, but not least, domesticated rabbits!
