My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet `Dixie`, a diamond in the rough!
Dixie is a 3 year old pit bull terrier weighing 40 pounds. She is a gentle soul with a quiet heart. Shy and reserved at first, Dixie takes time to warm up- but once she trusts you, her sweet personality shines through. She is the type of dog that will form a deep loyal bond with her people, and she`ll thrive in a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and loved.
Dixie has not had much socialization early on - especially with other dogs - can feel overwhelming to her. Because of this she is looking for a dog free home where she can relax and grow at her own pace.
If you believe in second chances and have room in your heart for a special girl who just needs a little time, Dixie may be what your looking for!
Dixie will need to meet all humans in the family before adoption. Women she warms up to easier and faster, men may take a while, as she shows some fear with men. She may also need multiple meet and greets before going home. No children under 15.
