At just 6 pounds, 12-year-old Tobi may be tiny in size, but he carries the quiet dignity of an old soul who’s seen a lot, and still has so much love left to give. He’s currently being adored (and we mean adored) in his Houston-area foster home, where his foster mom says he brings out the deepest motherly instincts with his tender, quiet presence.
Tobi is the definition of a polite house guest. He spends most of his time rotating between two beds and a kennel… he’s never once needed the door shut, he just likes to tuck himself into cozy corners and nap the day away. He gets along beautifully with the resident dog and cat, and while he isn’t one to seek out affection, he’s content to be gently snuggled and loves a good belly rub or a roll in his favorite blanket.
Like many seniors, Tobi has some arthritis and is on anti-inflammatory meds. His activity level is low, but he’s earned the right to take things slow. A sunny spot outside? Heaven. A quiet room with soft beds and understanding company? Pure bliss. His hair is still growing back from a tough past, so his foster is careful to protect his delicate skin, but his little patches are filling in more each week.
Tobi’s a bit of a character, too. When it’s time to go outside or eat, his inner Yorkie shows up loud and proud! He’ll stand there barking like he’s 80 pounds- It’s ridiculously cute and a reminder that while he may be fragile, he’s still got spirit.
Housebreaking is a work in progress, but Tobi’s about 50/50 and improving daily. If the back door’s open, he’ll head out on his own, and he’s never had an accident with number two. Catch him after a nap, and you’re golden. He’s quick though, so his future person should be, too!
Tobi also has a minor condition called paraphimosis (his little boy part doesn’t always tuck back in), but it’s managed easily with Vaseline and doesn’t slow him down or bother him much anymore.
Tobi will need to be on a joint supplement like glucosamine and Chondroiton or possibly NSAID for arthritis pain in his legs and spine.
Tobi is looking for a peaceful home where someone will love him for exactly who he is—a delicate, dignified, delightful old man who just wants a soft place to land and someone who sees the magic in his quiet ways.
Adoption fee is: $150
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.
Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
