Meet Josephine—her piercing yellow eyes are sure to cast a spell on you.

She`s an 8-year-old grey medium-haired cat with a sweet face, a soft coat, and a heart that shines when she feels safe and understood.

Indoors, Josephine is a friendly and gentle companion. She enjoys greeting new people, does well at the vet, and spends her days lounging, watching the world from the window, and playing with her favorite toys. And once she’s comfortable, she absolutely melts for head rubs: one of the quickest ways to earn her trust.

While Josephine has lived with other cats before, she’d be happiest as the only feline in the home.

She is also a bit overweight, so her new family should be prepared to help her stay on track with a healthy diet and play routine; something she’ll enjoy, thanks to her love of toys.

Josephine is a calm and affectionate companion who will happily keep you company and watch birds with you from the window. She’s ready for a fresh start with someone who will give her the peaceful home she deserves.

Fill out an adoption questionnaire and get ready to meet with a counselor (same day!)

You'll meet with the pet with one of our adoption counselors or we will connect you with the foster home!

The Adoption Center is open M,T,Th,Fr from 12-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm. The Shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
