Come meet Jett, a gentle, easy-going adult German Shepherd. This sweet boy is on the smaller side for a German Shepherd. Jett’s brindle coloring lead us to believe he might have some Dutch ancestry in his lineage. Since joining our foster program, Jett enjoys spending time outside in the grass with his foster family watching the world go. When that gets a little too boring he is excited to take the show on the road and go for a nice long walk. He has quickly settled into his foster home.

When meeting new people, Jett is inquisitive and approaches with a mix of curiosity and enthusiasm. When meeting other dogs, Jett takes a low-key approach. He is happy to make their acquaintance but is not looking to get too rowdy. Jett was originally found as a stray in Essex County prior to coming into our foster program. He has made friends with lots of dogs including our Jewel and the pups with German Shepherd Rescue of New Jersey.

If you want to meet this not quite “big ol’ Jett airliner, and carry him to his home”, please reach out to us at contact@sedonashepherd.com or fill out an online adoption application.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is:

Ages under 3 years old: $450

Ages 3 to 8: $250

Ages 8 and older $150 (or waived)

For dogs older than 10 or with medical issues we will waive the adoption fee. This is done on a case by case situation.

We do not adopt puppies. If you are interested in adopting a dog under 4 years old there are a number of respectable German Shepherd Rescues in the New Jersey metropolitan area that can accommodate you, including Shepherd's Hope Rescue and Garden State German Shepherd Rescue.

More about this rescue

Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary specializes in helping adult and senior German Shepherds and mixes find their forever home. Sadly, many older dogs are dumped in shelters and most often are the first to be euthanized to create room for younger, supposedly more adoptable dogs.

Our mission is to find loving homes who realize the special nature, love and enjoyment these dogs can bring to a household.

We work with owners who because of circumstances beyond their control need to find a home for their dog. We also work with many shelters and rescue organizations in the Northeast.
