My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shorty, sweet 9 mths old puppy, a true pocket pittie !! Meet Shorty, sweet 9 mths old puppy, a true pocket pittie !!
He's in a foster home and his skin issue is almost resolved. Please help this SWEET Bully mix Baby! he's only 1 yr. Good w/ dogs, he loves everyone, probably fine with cats too. Shorty is now about 35 lbs. and maybe 1/2" taller, still very small and cuddly. He's very affectionate, quiet, humble, smart and good on his leash. He is so sweet and well behaved, and he doesn't bark. He needs an adoptive home where he can get the love and security he deserves. He'd also like a small brother or sister to play with. He has been fully vetted, and tested negative for heartworm and tick diseases. He's just waiting for his own loving family to give him a great life. Please email us with any questions. ask for his videos, and a chance to meet him !!

Go meet their pets

We do conduct local adoption outings. We also show our dogs by appointment. We are in need of foster homes for our dogs, and accept any volunteer help. If you may be interested in providing temporary shelter and love to an animal in need, please contact us at BlueRidgeDogRescue@gmail.com

More about this rescue

Blue Ridge Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-euthanizing rescue based in Charlottesville, VA. We provide a safe haven for our homeless pets while they are awaiting a permanent home. They are mostly young adults, but occassionally we'll have a senior that needs a retirement home! They are saved from high-kill shelters/pounds or from owner give-up situations. While in our care, they receive a health checkup, spay/neuter, all shots, de-worming and heartworm/tick disease testing. Please check our Pets List, and contact us for a personal meeting. If you don't see exactly what you are looking for, please email us and we'll help you find that perfect pet. If you can't adopt at this time, please consider volunteering with us or sponsoring an animal.

Please note: We are busy folks and don't have "regular business hours". For this reason, we don't show the dogs until an application has been submitted. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a dog, but it does tell us that your interest in adopting an animal is serious. We thank you for being considerate of our time and efforts.

We do rescue cats/kittens when the need arises, but this is not our primary function. Please contact the regular Cat Rescue groups in your area for help.
