My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Maddy – The Bright & Confident Shepherd Pup!
DOB: 12/13/2024

Maddy is a happy, confident, and incredibly smart German Shepherd mix who’s ready to find her forever family — one that will keep her mind and body busy! True to her breed, Maddy thrives when she has a job to do and plenty of opportunities to learn, explore, and play.

She’s looking for an active home with another playful dog to keep her company and help her continue to grow in confidence. Maddy loves her canine friends and does best when she has a buddy to match her energy and enthusiasm. A secure yard where she can run, play, and burn off her working-dog energy would make her day complete!

With people, Maddy can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her sweet and loyal personality to shine through — especially if you come armed with patience (and treats!).

This clever girl already knows her basic obedience, walks beautifully on leash, and has excellent house manners. She’s fully potty trained, sleeps peacefully in her crate at night, and is eager to keep learning.

If you’re an active family with time for training, play, and adventure — and you have a friendly dog who’d love a smart, devoted sister — Maddy might just be the perfect fit. 💕

More about this rescue

We hope to ease the problem of population overflow occurring in many of our shelters today. WGSR educates the individual on the importance of sterilizing the pet and providing superior care.

WGSR is composed of a network of foster families and volunteers. We are always in need of more foster care providers with the time and commitment necessary to care for these animals in transition. We are also in need of volunteers who can shuttle dogs from shelters and other sites to our foster homes.
