Chip earned this name for two reasons: he's a 10 pound chi, like a chip of wood, i.e. a small part of a big dog, and also he's amazingly chipper at all times, taking off from the front stoop like a long jumper and sort of hopping around on his wobbly back legs at quite a rate of speed.
He gets along fine with other dogs, though a little awkward. He can be a little shy and, as with many of them, he'll need a little understanding as he settles in to his new home on his time.
Though he follows his foster mom around constantly, his idea of affection seems to be head butts in the morning and occasionally sitting next to her on the couch. He's still getting used to the idea of being loved.
We think that he's about 10-years-old and he is 10 lbs. He is hearing impaired but has adjusted fine to this.
Chip is very happy to meet another day and we are thrilled to have him in our care. He will do well in a mellow, adult home where he is surrounded by understanding and lots and lots of love.
