Meet Oscar – The Big-Hearted Boy with a Bright Future 🐾🖤
Oscar is a 7 month old Hound/Cane Corso mix with a sleek black and white coat and soulful eyes that will melt your heart. At around 52 pounds already, Oscar is the second-largest male in his litter—and he’s growing into a handsome, gentle giant.
Oscar’s life started out tough. He and his 8 siblings were rescued alongside their mom when they were just 3 days old. Their mom, once a beloved pet, had been left in a ditch to fend for herself and her newborns. Thankfully, they were found quickly and have been safe, loved, and cared for in foster ever since.
Oscar has the best of both worlds in his breed mix. Hounds are playful, curious, and affectionate, while Cane Corsos are loyal, intelligent, and deeply devoted to their families. Together, this makes Oscar a pup who is not only fun and full of life, but also destined to be a loyal and loving lifelong companion. 🐶💖
He loves to run and play, especially with his favorite squeaky and chewy toys. Despite his size, Oscar has a mellow and easy-going temperament—he’s a calm listener and eager to please. He’s also very food motivated, which makes him an excellent student in training. Because Oscar will grow into a large, powerful dog, early training and socialization are important to help him become the best version of himself. The good news? With his intelligence, calm nature, and eagerness to learn, he’s already set up to succeed. 🎓🐾
Oscar is up to date on all vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Now, all he needs is a forever family ready to give him the love, guidance, and companionship he deserves. 🏡❤️ 📞 Call 479-394-5682 to meet Oscar—your future loyal best friend! **************** All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If not already spayed/neutered, there may be a short delay between when you select this pet and when they are ready to go home.
Breed and age are determined based on observable physical traits. Actual lineage and birth date are rarely known.
Adoption Fees: -$60 for cats -$60 for dogs over 6 years -$80 for dogs 6 months old to 6 years -$100 for puppies up to 6 months

When you decide to adopt a pet, we charge a fee to cover some of our costs. (Except for 2 employees, all others are volunteers!) If there is any problem with your adopted pet, call us to work out a solution. Occasionally, we do take adopted pets back, but very seldom. This is why visiting our shelter is so important! We are willing to work with you! And we appreciate referrals!
