My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We prefer adopters to be within 1 hour of Claymont DE 19703, and for the adopter or their family to have a vet reference. Email us aolanimalrescue@gmail.com with questions or for an application.
Carmelo joined our pack when his prior family couldn’t care for him anymore. Carmelo is very sweet and loves LOVES people! He enjoyed playing with the kids. The kids enjoyed playing with Carmelo too despite Carmelo’s lack of manners. We suggest children over 5-7 years old would be the best for Carmelo since he is still a little bit of a mouthy puppy, but it also depends on the child. youngest age of a child and family too. Carmelo is about 11 months old and he is still learning. And he gets so excited over everything so it’s hard for him to hear direction. His foster home has a few other dogs which makes it difficult for Carmie to focus. Carmelo is crate trained as long as he isn’t left too long. A nice walk before before being crated and he is good for 6-7 hours. We are working on house breaking, doesn’t mind the belly band too much. He enjoys car rides and walks. He does however think he is big man on campus when it comes to playing with the other dogs, so some dogs might not like Carmelo’s little tough boy side of him, and he makes growly noises when he plays so that can be misinterpreted. He got along super well with a mid size older submissive dog, of course she cared less about who the boss was. He came with the name Carmelo. If foster mom were to name him she would probably call him Squiggy (from Lavern & Shirley show). Carmelo has been neutered, vaccinated, HW and Lyme tested (both negative), and is microchipped. He is ready for his next chapter! If interested in adding this cutie to add to your family, please email us for an application AoLanimallrescue@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We started this organization January 2023. Although the organization is newer, there is a lot of experience within All Our Love Animal Rescue. If an owner needs to rehome their pet, they can surrender the pet over to our rescue, relieving them of the stress. We understand this must be a difficult decision and we will handle the situation and the pet with care. We pull animals that have landed at a local high risk shelter, those that may not make it out otherwise. We often take in the problem fur-kids, the ones the other rescues rather not deal with. We help communities with TNR of cats. This helps to slow down the reproduction of the stray population. The animals are living on the streets or in a shelter because a human failed them. Animals deserve so much better this and we help tot give them that 2nd chance.
