My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Duke!

Duke is a big, lovable, energetic grey/blue Doberman pup who knows how to relax once he’s had enough exercise. House-trained and crate trained, Duke is slowly learning good leash manners, though still prone to some pulling when excited. He wants to play with every person and dogs he meets, both big and small. He’s outgoing, and very much the social butterfly.

Duke’s foster describes him as a sweet, goofy guy, adaptable, very inquisitive and just wants to please. He gets along very well with foster’s resident dog, and they love playing and napping together. Duke is very affectionate and likes nothing better than to be next to you on the sofa while you watch TV and scratch his head.

If you want to provide this sweet, affectionate guy with a forever home, and continue to provide him with the ongoing training to help him reach his full potential, please submit an application and a volunteer will be in touch.

Duke weighs 75 pounds.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/

More about this rescue

We rescue not for politics, fortune, or fame, my friend… but for the kiss of a dog. Founded in 2001 by Bay Area animal activist Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog Rescue is a 501-C3 nonprofit corporation supported completely by donations. Our all-volunteer, home-based organization guarantees that your donations are completely focused on saving dogs. Rocket Dog Rescue’s ultimate goal is to help create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes.
