My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Larry (Zero Brain Cells, 100% Heart) 🐾😎

Larry is 3 years old and has been with us since November 2023, when we rescued him off the urgent list at the shelter. And listen… this dude has style. The brindle coat? On point. The one ear that never commits? Iconic. Those big brown eyes? Dangerous. Common sense, however? Absolutely not included.

Larry is a certified dork. A professional goofball. He does not sit — ever. Not for treats, not for manners, not for anyone. Instead, he prefers the full-speed, run-you-over-at-100-mph greeting approach. It’s bold. It’s enthusiastic. It’s very Larry.

He is also a big fan of giving kisses using all of his teeth, directly on your nose, ear, or mouth. Personal space is not something he believes in.

Now let’s talk about the love of his life: Mabel. His wifey. His soulmate. His everything. They met in boarding after we rescued them and somehow — despite the fact that Mabel famously does not like other dogs — she fell head over heels for Larry and his goofy self. They are inseparable. She is the Rose to his Jack… except she absolutely would not let him on the door either after the ship sank. Sorry not sorry.

Larry is also best buds with Teddy and enjoys playing with Prissy, but Mabel only tolerates Teddy and is not accepting applications for any additional members of their thruple. Boundaries have been set.

Larry and Mabel are bonded and will not be separated. Honestly, two dogs are better than one anyway — especially when one is the brains (Mabel) and one is… Larry.

More about this rescue

Journey's Legacy is a small rescue in Cleveland, TN. We save dogs from the local shelter, off the streets, and occasionally owner surrenders if there is room or an urgent need. We have dogs in foster homes, boarding facilities, and the ranch. We specialize in medium to large breed dogs. We are working hard to get laws to change to require pet owners to spay and neuter their pets to stop the overpopulation of animals.
