Dr. Drake Ramoray reporting for duty... Known to my close friends as Draco when I'm not on the job saving hoomans. How you doing? I'm great but could be better if I had more free time outta HSWC med center. I'm the new golden boy. I take my responsibilities very seriously. I let the staff and patients know when they are in danger. Like when they walk by and don't take me out for a walk. I'm only looking out for their best interest. Exercise is so important. I'm also a health nut. You are what you eat and I eat well. I'm trim and athletic. 58 pounds. I get a good workout in everyday. I like being outside. Hiking, playing, running. I'm very active. Ya gotta Keep moving I always say. I'm single. Looking to settle down with the right person. I feel I'm pretty good looking. I have a beautiful honey coat I like to show off. It really shines in the sunlight. I'd even go so far as to say I really turn some heads as I jog through the halls. I have a good bedside manner but I get a bad rep for calling out what I need to the staff. Apparently getting attention should be done more subtly. Oh well. I'm a great companion one on one. I highly recommend meeting me. I think with an active family I will be a real good fit. Let's get together soon. I'm very popular. I expect to be on my way in no time. Moving up and out to bigger and better adventures.
I passed all my board tests so far. ✅Cat ✅Dog ✅People 🏆Extra curricular high scores: Come. Sit. Down. Crawl. I'm Learning more everyday! I loves playing ball -not pickle - the OG tennis. One, two, three at a time no problem, extra large I can roll with that.

Adoption fee includes basic vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, feline-leukemia/FIV test, heartworm test, spay/neuter (done prior to leaving), rabies vaccination and a microchip
There is a contract and all potential adopters meet with adoption counselor to talk about application and make sure pet is good fit with the person and family. A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. If someone is adopting a dog and has another dog at home, we also require a "meet and greet" for the dogs as well. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. We verify all information on the adoption application and may deny an application with any false information on it. A follow up call or visit is done on all adoptions within first 30 days of adoption.

Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppy (0-12 months): $200
Adult Dog (1-5 years): $175
Senior Dog (6+ years): $85
Senior to Senior Program: any person over 65 yrs of age wanting to adopt any pet over 7 yrs of age: adoption fee is waived

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
