Hi, I am Obsidian!
I am a playful, high-energy kitty who lives for zoomies and fun! Whether I am chasing spring toys or exploring my surroundings, I am always on the move.

Curious and alert, I enjoy the company of other cats and get along well with them, though I am not afraid to set boundaries when needed. Dogs, however? Not really my thing. I need a calm, cat-only home where I can fully relax and be myself.

Play definitely comes first in my world, but after I have gotten my energy out, I will happily curl up for some cuddle time. I especially love interactive toys that challenge my mind and keep me engaged — bonus points if they bounce!

Because I did not grow up around young children, I would do best in a home with older kids who can respect my space and playful nature.

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
