My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He has been SUCH a joy to have around. He was recovering from the eye surgery and congested/sneezy with a little cat cold, so he was mainly laying low for the first half of his stay.

During the second half he has been coming out of his shell and he’s such a little love bug. He was easy to handle from the first time I met him, but he lets me hold him like a baby as long as I’m giving him good chin scratches. He lets me touch his paws and is a very trusting cat. If I hold him and he wants to get down he’ll wiggle to let me know. He absolutely loves playing with a laser pointer or string on a stick, but he is not a fan of toys that roll.

While he was resting during his first few days, I would sit in the room and he would take his time coming out but purr. Now he comes running over and solicits attention nonstop. For the first time today he sat next to me and tapped me gently with his paw to say “pet me”. He loves to rub his face on me and when I start petting him, he rolls onto his side so I can scratch his belly. He will lay there with his paws stretched out making muffins. He’s obsessed with the floor mirror I have and loves to look at me in it and meow so I look at him.

I noticed he was splashing his bowl of water, so I tried a fountain with him and he absolutely loves it. I left gim wet and dry food his first couple of days but he prefers the dry food and is a hungry guy. It’s Purina Cat Chow Indoor Hairball and Healthy Weight chicken flavor. He has great litter box manners and hasn’t had any issues. I have a small resident dog who is best friends with my resident cat and I had my dog come to the doorway to see if Hyper Pal would have a reaction and he was more curious than anything. I let him see her for a few seconds before closing the door, but he ran to the closed door and sniffed curiously - I’d say he’s open to being dog friendly in my unprofessional opinion. I would love to be able to give info on if he is good with cats, but I won’t try to do a cat introduction with my resident cat because it’s too much of a risk since I don’t know how either one would react to the other.

Hyper Pal might have a terrible name, but he’s a great cat. Sweet, affectionate, playful, easy to handle.
