My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Liberty was a stray found in a local neighborhood, dirty and matted, so needed to be completely shaved. She has grown some of her beautiful hair back and is filling out nicely. She has been through a lot of changes so will need a family who can let her decompress on her own schedule. Liberty is about 8-9 lbs, is friendly, but will need an adopter with a bit of patience and time to earn her trust.

We believe Liberty will acclimate better in a quieter, calm home with no small children. She does fine with other dogs and new people who give her some space to approach on her own. She will need regular grooming to keep her fine hair in good shape once she grows it all back! You can tell from her beautiful, curly tail, what her hair is like! She is fine whether being carried or snuggling in her crate.

WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.

If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.

Adoption fee of $465 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.

We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible.

Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
