Skyler is a one year old, 45 lb Cattle Dog mix. Foster mom says that she is sweet and playful. She is happy trying to cuddle up next to you....she thinks she's a lap dog. But she also enjoys playing. It would be ideal for Skyler to either have another dog (medium to large size) to play and wrestle with or a human friend that enjoys playing and running. Skyler loves toys, but if it can be torn apart it will be, so tennis balls or rubber toys are best. She enjoys fetching the tennis balls but eventually they will be popped. She is really great about going in her kennel. She has been sleeping out freely in the house and enjoys sleeping on a dog bed. Skyler is potty trained and knows how to use a doggie door. She doesn't bark a lot unless she hears other dogs barking or hears someone outside. She knows the command "Sit" but needs to work on not jumping up on people.
Skyler has heartworms because she was not kept on heartworm prevention. Humane Tomorrow will pay for her treatment with our partner vet, and the treatments are very successful. Please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Additional adoption info
All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.
Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats
Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs
The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.
Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.
