Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Duck — the last of her little trio still waiting for a place to call home. 💛 Earlier this year, Duck and her two siblings were brought to us after being left in a truck on a warm day. Her siblings have since been adopted, leaving Duck behind… and she’s been struggling ever since. Watching her sit alone where her brother and sister used to be has truly broken our hearts.
Duck is a little older, a little set in her ways, and we love her for it. She’s quirky, playful, and full of personality. She loves her toys, loves to run, and once she decides you’re safe, she bonds deeply — the kind of loyalty you can feel. She just needs a moment to warm up, and then she’s your girl.
She’s good with cats, and while she can be a bit picky with other dogs, slow introductions can make all the difference. Duck would also do well with kids 12 and up who understand how to give her space as she settles in.
Right now, being the last one left has been hard on her. She’s lonely, confused, and waiting — hoping someone finally chooses her. We’re desperately wishing that the right person sees her story and feels that little tug in their heart.
If you think you could be the one to sweep Duck off her feet and show her what it feels like to be truly loved, please reach out. This girl deserves her happy ending. 🐾💛All cats and dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm. A minimum adoption fee of $185 is required for adult dogs, puppy adoption fees start $300, and dogs over the age of 10 are $100. Adult cat adoption fees are $85, kittens under one year are $135, and cats over the age of 10 are $50.
