My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently in our Paws-in-Prison program!

Meet Lane!

Lane’s story started out rough—he and his siblings were dumped in the game lands, and tragically, three of them were struck by a car. Lane is one of the lucky survivors, and now this sweet boy is ready to leave that past far behind.

Lane is snuggly, playful, and full of love. He’ll happily romp and play, but what he really lives for are cuddle sessions. He loves people and absolutely melts into your arms once he feels safe. Lane came to us a little cautious with quick movements—he wasn’t sure what to expect from the human hand—but he’s learning every day that love and safety are all that’s waiting for him.

Lane’s breed mix is as special as his heart: Standard Poodle + American Pit Terrier, with a touch of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel. That means he’s smart, affectionate, and loyal—just waiting for the right person to give him the forever home he deserves.

Before completing an application, please take into consideration breed characteristics, puppy shenanigans, and estimated full-grown size.
• I am full of razor-sharp puppy teeth and LOVE to chew.
• I am not house trained or crate trained (but I’m working on it).
• I need daily exercise, playtime, and mental enrichment—not long hours confined in a crate.
• I require quality time to learn good manners, basic obedience, house training, and proper socialization.
• I’ve had a rough start in life and need a home committed to helping me learn what love and loyalty really mean.
• We place our dogs and puppies into homes that meet their specific needs.

Please note:
We cannot guarantee breed or breed mix, as our information is often limited to what is observed or shared by a previous owner.
Changes in environment may also affect behavior—so while we do our best to assess each dog, we cannot guarantee personality traits, temperament, or preferences.

All of our dogs are fully vetted, including:
• Spay or neuter
• Age-appropriate vaccinations
• Rabies vaccination
• Microchipping
• Heartworm and Lyme testing
• Deworming
• Flea and tick treatment
• Heartworm prevention
• Any other necessary medical care

Foster-to-adopt means the dog will live with you while completing any remaining veterinary care. Once completed, the adoption is finalized.

Each adoption includes a 6-week group obedience class (a $125 value).

If adopting a puppy under 6 months of age, we cover the cost of spay/neuter at the appropriate time.

Paws-in-Prison dogs are not available for adoption until they complete their training program. However, you may apply in advance to reserve your highly trained companion.
