My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sissy – A Quiet Beauty with a Heart Ready to Bloom 🌸

Sissy is a stunning brindle and white girl with a gentle spirit and quiet grace. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her affectionate and loyal personality shines through. Sissy forms deep bonds with her people and thrives in calm, loving environments.

She has wonderful manners, walks beautifully on a leash, and enjoys peaceful strolls at her own pace. Sissy is also kennel trained and appreciates having a cozy space to relax after walks or downtime. She isn’t high-energy and would be happiest in a relaxed home where she can enjoy companionship, gentle affection, and a steady routine. Sissy would truly thrive in a home where she is the only dog, allowing her to feel secure and fully bond with her person.

Her adopter may also be eligible for free fencing (requirements must be met and approved), helping provide her with a safe, secure space to settle in.

If you’re looking for a gentle, steady companion who will quietly steal your heart, Sissy may be the perfect match.

More about this shelter

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, and no monies from national humane organizations or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations. The fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing an animal for placement into a new home. We value every animal equally and consider all to be priceless
