My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Olive

Breed: Rottweiler/Lab mix

Sex/Age/Weight: Female/ estimated DOB 03/2023 / 60 lbs

Vetting: Fully vetted, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Is receiving flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention monthly

House trained/Crate Trained: she does very well left loose in the house. There are no accidents since learning the doggy door. She is excellent in a crate. She has slept in a crate, with no issues. She now sleeps loose in my bedroom.

Dogs/Cats/Children: Good with other dogs of all sizes, She needs a proper introduction. She hasn't been around cats. She absolutely loves to play. She loves water, sits in her pool when it was really hot this summer. The only issue is that she jumps when overexcited.

Energy Level: Moderately high – Olive is a typical teenage pup. She absolutely needs space to run and play in. She would love a fur brother or sister.

Before FAR/My History: I came up on my foster mom and dad one evening at their house. They had a lot of dogs and I was looking for some friends. They tried to find my family but no one came forward. They did promise me they would find me a great family of my own.

Training Status/Commands I know: I know my name and respond and come when called. I absolutely love to run and play.

Working on: We are working on walking on a leash and using a prong collar confidently and not jump. She knows sit, stay.

Things I like: Playing with any sort of toys! LOVES playing with other dogs.

Things I don’t like: Not enough play time.

Things that make my humans happy: When I get a lot of playtime and I am all tuckered out, snuggling with my foster mom! She seems to just love and want to be around people all the time!

Ideal Family/Home: Olive is a moderately energetic and playful girl so she would do great with an active family with a fenced yard who understands this and is willing to work with her and give her the time she needs to run and play as well as training to help her be her best self. A home with other dogs would be ideal because he absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs.

We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the dog or puppy you are interested in. Some of the adoption fees have been listed on the individual dog's description but if you do not see one then please reach out and we would be happy to talk to you about it! If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events some Saturdays at various locations around middle GA from 11 am-3 pm. Check our Facebook page for updates on Events! We are also able to arrange meet and greets for local adopters!

More about this rescue

Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!
