Name: Tova
Animal ID: A879877
Age: 3 years
Weight: 68.80

About:
Tova is a shy, gentle dog who’s learning to trust the world again. She takes a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, her sweet and curious side starts to shine through.
She’s made a lot of progress here—walking more confidently, taking treats from our hands, and relaxing more in the yard with her buddy, Raisa. She likes to stay close and will check in for gentle pets when she’s comfortable.
Tova will do best in a calm home with people who understand that she needs time and patience. She isn’t ready for too much handling right away, but with a slow approach and plenty of treats, she’ll continue to come out of her shell.
Because she can be nervous and startle easily, she’ll need a secure yard and should be supervised outside. She would also do best in a home without small children, as quick movements or loud noises can make her uncomfortable. With other dogs, she prefers slow, controlled introductions.
Tova’s come a long way and has shown she’s ready to keep growing with the right person by her side, but a recent bite in the shelter has placed in her the position of need immediate placement, where she can continue to thrive out of the shelter environment. She just needs someone who’s willing to go slow, give her space when she needs it, and let her build trust on her own timeline. Once she does, you’ll see just how special she really is!

Available for foster care (30+ day minimum) or adoption through PACC.
