My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently fostered in: Brooklyn Park, MD

💜Meet Blair!💜

Don't let that stoic model face fool you- Blair is the sweetest goofball you'll ever meet!

ENERGY AND PERSONALITY
Blair is an energetic bundle of fun who loves flirt poles, fetch, tug of war, hikes, etc., and has hilarious zoomies for your entertainment! After the excitement wears off, lounging near her humans with her toys/bones and taking long naps in her humans' bed (and sometimes on her humans!) are Blair's go-to ways to spend the rest of her day.

TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR
Blair has a long list of positive behaviors under her belt:
🐾House-trained
🐾Crate-trained
🐾Listens well
🐾VERY food-motivated
🐾Eager to learn and super responsive to training.
🐾Great on car rides
🐾Great on walks
🐾Picks up on new things very fast
🐾Makes human friends wherever she goes

Blair is a cutie who enjoys routine, structure, and the occasional adventure!

SOCIAL LIFE
Blair prefers human company to canine- she absolutely thrives being the only pup and the center of your world. Blair really loves people, but she is still working on practicing good manners when over-excited, so she isn't a candidate to live with young children right now.

Blair is dog-selective and will need to be the only dog living in the home, although she has been known to enjoy playtime outdoors with specific dogs after a slow introduction. She really loves cats, but can chase them playfully and pester them to play with her. Blair has a feline best friend in her foster home who hides under the bed with her and helps her steal socks, shoes, and her foster mom's makeup.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Blair's foster mom can't say enough about her- she's insanely smart, she's silly, she's loyal, and you can feel the love and joy radiating from Blair when she sees you. She melts into a wiggle butt and gives the biggest hug she can. Blair loves getting kisses from her humans and is happy to be included. She looks tough, but truly is just a quirky girl who brings lots of laughs and love to your home.

BEST HOME FIT
Blair's ideal adopter is someone who is willing to be patient and work with her as she grows into her best self. She could do well in a range of calm home environments that allow her to be the only dog. She is still learning, and will benefit from structure and guidance (and some additional fun training to flex how smart she is!)

An adopter who has the patience and dedication to continue training is vital to Blair's thriving!

VETERINARY CARE
Blair is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and receiving heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives along with routine parasite treatments.

If you are someone looking for die-hard loyalty and love, Blair is your partner in crime.

💜 Ready to give Blair a chance? We promise you'll have a best friend for life! 💜

MEET AND GREETS

We primarily rely on meet & greets for potential adopters. Approved adopters may meet adoptable animals at the home of the animal's foster, or possibly in the adopter's own home.

More about this rescue

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. We provide foster homes where they can get the love and attention needed before finding their forever homes. Our organization provides pet adoption services in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and parts of Southern Pennsylvania. Operation Paws for Homes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is 100% donor funded and could not save these dogs and fulfill their dreams of being united with their forever families, without the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors and volunteers. Sadly, without our help, all of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - usually within days or hours of arriving at the shelter. Each year we take in hundreds of wonderful animals who were left at shelters by no fault of their own.
