My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Great news! Lottie's adoption fee has been fully covered by a generous supporter, and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer during the first 60 days to help set you both up for success!

Current location: Manassas, VA

MEET LOTTIE: The Sweetest Peach From Georgia! You’ll Love Her Expressive Eyes and Her Gleaming Black Coat Highlighted with Gold brindle.

PERSONALITY: Lottie is a sweet and super-affectionate girl with loads of charm. Lottie loves being with people, giving everyone kisses, chewing on a Nylabone, showing off her ability to stand on her back 2 legs like a meerkat, and is happy to curl up on the couch and nap for hours.

ENERGY: Lottie is a medium-energy dog who loves hikes, long walks and other adventures. But she also loves lounging on the couch.

COMPANIONSHIP: Lottie adores people and she quickly makes a new friend with every person she meets.

TRAINING AND LEARNING: Lottie is house trained. Lottie has made wonderful progress on her leash skills and with a well-timed treat she now walks past squirrels, rabbits, and other dogs without an issue. This smart girl loves her treats which is helpful during training sessions. She would love to continue learning in her new home. She is fine in her crate at breakfast, dinner, and bedtime but she prefers not to spend too much time in her crate during the day. Lottie loves car rides!

TRAITS AND IDEAL HOME: Lottie is gaining confidence but for now, she prefers not to be alone so she would thrive in a family where there is usually someone home. She is looking forward to having a loving human guide her as she learns more and grows into her best self. While a fenced yard would be great for Lottie, she loves exploring the sights and smells on walks so a yard isn't required. Lottie would be best as the only dog in the home.

LOVE AND AFFECTION: Lottie will welcome attention from anyone, whether you are rubbing her ears, chin or belly. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving companion, Lottie’s ready to brighten your life with her kisses and charm!

MEET AND GREETS

We primarily rely on meet & greets for potential adopters. Approved adopters may meet adoptable animals at the home of the animal's foster, or possibly in the adopter's own home.

More about this rescue

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. We provide foster homes where they can get the love and attention needed before finding their forever homes. Our organization provides pet adoption services in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and parts of Southern Pennsylvania. Operation Paws for Homes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is 100% donor funded and could not save these dogs and fulfill their dreams of being united with their forever families, without the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors and volunteers. Sadly, without our help, all of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - usually within days or hours of arriving at the shelter. Each year we take in hundreds of wonderful animals who were left at shelters by no fault of their own.
