The sweetest dog in the world Scarlet’s story is one of heartbreak turned hope. She was surrendered to Wasco Animal Shelter, a rural shelter, where dogs often sit unseen for months. With kennels filling quickly and no adoption interest , Scarlett was placed on their euthanasia list a month after arriving at the shelter. This good girl was almost out of luck and completely out of time. But she had a ton of people working hard to get her seen and save her life. Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers and our commitment to giving dogs like her a second chance, Scarlet is getting her chance with us!
But 2nd Chances never seem to all be perfect and Scarlet struggled to catch a break. When she first arrived, she was lethargic, struggling to breathe, coughing, vomitting and so sick she could barely hold herself up. With a treatment plan from our vet and months of care and medication she has significantly improved and is finally putting on weight and not struggling to breathe. Scarlet is getting better and we can do what we do best and start helping her find her perfect home. Scarlet does have an old break to one of her back legs. It’s fully healed but she will always walk a bit funny.
Scarlet is one resilient girl! She’s one of the sweetest most mellow dogs we’ve ever met. Always affectionate she adores all humans and has quickly become a staff favorite. She gives lots of pittie kisses and is always down to give and receive a little love. She’s good with respectful dogs and needs the appropriate introductions to ensure compatibility. With the dogs she enjoys she’s goofy, playful and so incredible sweet. Scarlet is such a good girl we can’t wait for her to find her perfect home. Interested? Apply today or come visit our rescue ranch and you’ll see in person why we all love this beautiful girl so much!
