My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Meet Eagle!**
Eagle is a beautiful, gentle soul who has grown up in the shelter and is *so* ready to spread his wings and find his forever family. Expected to reach about 60–70 lbs when fully grown, this sweet boy has the perfect mix of cuddly softness and big-dog presence.

Eagle is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and even more eager to love. He’s one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet—the kind who leans in for affection, watches you with soft eyes, and wants nothing more than to be someone’s “best boy.”

He’s fully vetted and ready to go home: up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, dewormed, microchipped, and neutered.

After spending so much of his young life waiting, Eagle deserves a family who will give him the love, structure, and joy he’s been dreaming of. Could that be you? 🦅💛

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
