Meet Elton! This sweet boy started off shy, but with time and patience he has begun to blossom, warming up to trusted people and enjoying gentle pets - even showing off playful zoomies! He has done well with other dogs in care, joining play groups and buddy walks, and could enjoy a home with a respectful, dog-social companion. Elton will need patient adopters who can move at his pace, continue building his confidence with positive reinforcement and provide a calm, predictable environment. Due to his shy nature, he may thrive best in a home where any children are over the age of 12 and can understand his body language. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized.
