My story

Their adoption process

When you adopt a rescue dog, you not only save a life, but you make space for other animals in need. Beyond the obvious gift of giving the dog a chance to live outside the walls of a shelter or rescue, you’ll have a life-long friend who will help you unwind at the end of a long day, will never judge you and is always happy to see you!

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
Choose their pet online or come to the shelter.
  2. Sign Adoption Contract
  3. Pay Fee
  4. Take the Pet Home

More about this shelter

Seeing a great need in the area, Easy’s Dog Shelter was started in June of 2021. Located on two donated acres in the mountain town of Tracy City, the Shelter serves a population of over 13,000 people that often cannot afford to take care of their animals nor do they have the financial means to provide vet care, spay, or neuter.

The operation was founded by Andy Wostal (CEO), and is ran with Lynn Borchert (volunteer, Shelter Liaison), Joey Vredenburgh (volunteer, Treasurer) and Kamryn Vredenburgh (volunteer). Easy's receives calls daily to pick up dogs of all ages and breeds. Because of the number of dogs rescued, the Shelter has a constant need for dog food, monetary donations, blankets, towels, straw, and dog houses (this is especially helpful in the winter or for the nursery).

Once animals are in our care, we place them in a comfortable, clean environment. They are carefully inspected and treated for fleas, ticks, or anything else they need, including vaccines. We spay/ neuter each dog as soon as we can. Their pictures and information are posted to our site and other adoption agencies, and together we work to find them homes. All our dogs have a fee associated with their adoption to help cover this care, but it’s still less expensive than buying a dog from a breeder and paying for their shots as an owner. (We can also arrange a veterinarian to provide validated paperwork of their care.)
