Cheerio is ready to find a permanent residence where he can over zealously kiss and love on other doggos, gain about ten pounds from whatever you drop on the floor, and smother you with the sweetest most grateful pittie kisses known to mankind.
Cheerio is neutered and is up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, and is 110% crate trained and house trained. He will hold his potty in his crate until his ears turn blue - he’s a true gentleman 💛
He’s a fan of sun bathing, bird watching, string cheese, and soaking up every extra minute of the second chance he was given. He’s about 3.5 years old, and a low riding lad at 45 pounds (he needs all the snackies). He’s more than content to just be by your side and is overall a very low maintenance guy. 💛
If he sounds like someone you would love to love forever and ever - please apply at https://www.helpingheartshealingtails.org/adoption-application 💙

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process consists of an initial application for the animal of interest, followed by reference checks (both personal and with a veterinarian), a home visit, and finally if approved an adoption contract. All animals are required to be inside companion pets and the owner must maintain veterinary care throughout the life of the animal.
Adoption fees are $150 for dogs, unless it is fostered through us for another rescue and $75 for cats.
All animals are up to date with vaccinations and spayed/neutered before adoption.

Arrangements can be made to visit with any of our pets, but because we are foster based and do not have one facility, appointments must be made to do so. To visit with a pet, please contact us at 814-421-7078 by phone or text.

More about this rescue
We are a small foster based rescue, not a shelter, comprised of multiple individuals that open their homes to stray, sick, and forgotten animals in need. We began the rescue in the Ligonier Area to focus on issues of stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. We often took in animals for the local police departments instead of having them sent to animal control. We have since expanded and try to cooperate with the public, other rescues, and other animal groups to assist any animal in need. Our primary focus area for intake though is still the Ligonier Valley. Adoptions can be made to any area as long as the adoption process is completed.
