Willie was found as a stray, and nobody ever came looking for him. He is an extremely shy boy, even with his foster mom, and will need an experienced, patient adopter willing to work with him to build his confidence and social skills.
Willie absolutely loves other dogs and is more confident when he has a confident dog with him to show him the way. We wish we knew why he was so wary of humans, but through it all, he has never shown any aggression. His former owner tragically failed this handsome boy, and now Willie needs a better human willing to give him a second chance.
Willie is a good boy, and we see a happy soul behind the fear. He will take treats from your hand, but is still learning that human touch can be a good thing! He loves being outside and needs a high, secure fence.
He is about two years old (as of 9/2025) and about 50 lbs.
WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.
If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.
Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.
We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible.
Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
