Dog's Name: Pup Homer (HOM0925ALAMN)
Estimated Breed: Lab mix
Approximate Age: DOB 5/1/25
Approximate Weight: 25 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $500
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Pup Homer!
Homer is a sweet, adorably derpy lab mix who was rescued by K-9 Lifesavers from a very full shelter in Alabama. Now he’s up north and ready to find the loving forever home he truly deserves. Could that be you? Homer is a sensitive soul who’s still learning about the big, wide world. New noises startle him and he has a bit of separation anxiety, so he’ll thrive with a patient adopter who can help him build confidence, in the meantime his amazing foster is working with him and he is making excellent strides in a short time. He would love a home with another friendly, welcoming dog to show him the ropes — he learns so much from canine buddies! He’s getting used to leash walking and meeting new people and dogs while out. Everything is still new, but he’s pretty easy on leash overall. The crate… well, Homer would prefer we don’t talk about the crate. He’s also almost housebroken. Homer’s personality is pure joy. He’s goofy, gentle when he jumps, and not a nipper. His hobbies include play, play, play! He responds beautifully to gentle corrections and does not resource guard. He’s also very curious about counters, but redirects easily. He’s truly a good boy who just needs guidance. Homer is young, eager, and at the perfect age for training and socialization. He may not be an agility champion — but he’ll certainly be a champion in your heart. Homer is so ready to give and receive love. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal companion, apply today!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
