Petunia is a sweet, goofy girl who brings joy everywhere she goes. She’s around 11 months old and full of personality. Petunia is also deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit! She’s eager to please, making her an excellent buddy to train and learn new tricks with. There are many ways to communicate and train a deaf dog, and with just a little extra effort, you and Petunia can work together to help her be the very best dog she can be.
Petunia absolutely loves meeting new people and dogs. She thrives on play and companionship, and she’s happiest when she’s part of the action—whether that’s wrestling with a buddy, zooming around the yard, or joining in playtime. Because she’s such a social butterfly, she would do best in a home with another dog (or even more!) so she can live her best life as part of your pack.
This fun-loving girl is crate trained and almost over the hump with potty training. She enjoys toys, bones, and soaking up the sunshine—zoomies and sunbaths are definitely in her top five favorite activities! Though she’s deaf, she’s not mute and has quite the range of interesting vocalizations that add to her charm.
Petunia has adjusted quickly to her new environment and even does wonderfully at public events, showing off her friendly, confident nature. She may be full of energy, but she’ll always stop for some head rubs and affection.
This special girl truly deserves the world—could you be the one to give it to her?

Additional adoption info
If we all agree that a current Sketchy Mutt might be a good fit, we will bring him to your home and introduce him to your dogs, cats, and human family members. If all goes well and everyone (including your animals) is in agreement, you will start a one-week (minimum) trial adoption. We want you to live day in, day out with the dog to see what it would really be like to bring him into your family. If at any point during the trial adoption you decide its not a good match, the dog goes back to his foster home.
