My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut was a previous shelter dog that was trained in the prison. Upon his return, through no fault of his own, he was returned to the prison to continue his training.
Peanut was not returned to us by his previous adopters, however he was found wandering so we have no idea why the previous adopters chose not to keep him.
His manners and behaviors at the prison are spot on and he knows his commands, his handler states he is perfect!

Peanut does well with other dogs, plays very well with them and when not playing he is calm and loves to relax.

If you are interested in Peanut please call or email and we will explain how the process with meeting him is arranged. ***he is NOT at the shelter----an appointment must be arranged and scheduled to go to the prison to do so.

He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped.

More about this shelter

We are the Morrow County Dog Shelter, operated by the county.
Our shelter houses stray and homeless dogs from our county. We are a small shelter with an annual intake between 250-400 dogs. Some of our available dogs go through a prison training program if they qualify.
Our adoption fee includes all basic vet care and it is completed before a dog goes to his/her new home. An adoption application is necessary for all dogs prior to an adopter being chosen.
