My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dixie! 🌸🐾

This sweet 3-year-old Pit mix has already done the hard work of being a devoted mama to her eight puppies. Now that they’re all grown and finding their own homes, Dixie is ready to hang up her “mom hat” and finally be the one who gets spoiled!

Dixie is a curious girl with a zest for life—she loves exploring and would be thrilled to have an adopter who can show her the world.

With her gentle nature, playful spirit, and eagerness to experience life’s adventures, Dixie is more than ready to trade kennel life for couch snuggles and car rides. She deserves the chance to finally just be Dixie—a beloved companion. 💕

More about this rescue

The HSVLC is a non-profit organization that only rescues animals based on available foster homes and funding. All of our dogs and some of our cats live in foster homes. Loving families have taken them in and are caring for them until they find their furrever home. We also house many of our cats at our office location. We have four cage free rooms dedicated to housing our resident cats. You can stop by our office during business hours to visit our residents or contact us in advance to schedule a visit with one of our fosters.
