My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET 5 year old, 65 pound IAN - Your Loyal Sidekick with the Biggest Smile! lan is a smart, loving pup who likes to be close to his people. He LOVES meeting new people and will eat up attention for everyone he meets! He's a big fan of belly rubs too! lan has done well with children in his previous home, is housebroken and crate trained. Why you'll love lan: • Sweet, loving pup who sticks close to his people • Warms up quickly with a little baby talk (his favorite!) • Calm, steady walker who loves taking in the world right by your side • Always ready to flash that big, happy smile • Great car rider lan can be a bit selective with other dogs so he will need to meet any resident dogs he may be living with to ensure it's a good fit. lan also should not go to a home with cats. Ready to fall in love? Come meet lan and see his heart-melting smile for yourself - this handsome boy is ready to be your loyal, gentle sidekick forever.October 22, 2025, 11:41 am

Additional adoption info

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. We suggest a $200 donation that helps offset some of our expenses such as feeding, boarding, training, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and miscellaneous veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
