My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zephyr!
7-year-old, 70 lb neutered male German Shepherd
Adoption Fee: $200

Zephyr is a mature, intelligent GSD who’s ready for a fresh start in a secure and stable home. He’s crate trained, housebroke, and knows his obedience—he’s been well-loved and trained over the last 4+ years, and his current caretaker is happy to provide background and support his transition.

Zeph thrives when he has a job to do. He’s a working dog at heart and needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation daily. If you’re a long-distance runner, hiker, or farm-dweller, he could be your perfect partner!

Good with other dogs
Good with respectful kids (7+)
No cats or small animals
UTD on Rabies, DAPPV, Bordetella, flea/tick prevention, dewormed & heartworm tested

His current family is heartbroken to let him go, but know he deserves more space, time, and attention than they can provide now. If you're looking for a loyal, active companion to share your adventures, Zephyr is your guy.

Additional adoption info

The Furry Farm Rescue Adoption process:

For Dogs:
When you find an animal you would like to find out more about and meet, please go fill out our adoption application. With review of your application we check references and speak to your veterinarian. During that process we will also schedule a time for you to come meet and get to know your new furry friend. If you have other animals, we will want to do some intros at that time. We then ask you take a few days to think about it and let us know. We will then come to your house and do a final meet and greet before finalizing the adoption. All adopters sign a contract with the Furry Farm Rescue. All of our adoptions come with a 2 week trial period. This allows you to and your new furry friend some time to bond and know if this is a forever family.

Our Adoption fees vary between $100-350 for dogs. Each dogs fee will be listed in their biography.

More about this rescue

Our promise to our animals: We will love and protect you, provide an enriching and nurturing foster home, care for all your medical needs, give you the structure and training needed for success, and above all; treat you as our own while you are with us.

Our promise to our community: We will work together, we will be kind and considerate, we will educate, we will advocate, we will serve.

We are a small rescue established in 2017 to serve North Idaho and surrounding vicinity. The farm hands bring rescue and animal welfare together with a focus on our local community needs. Furry Farm concentrates on those most at risk, be it their medical needs, background, or baggage. We are not a high volume rescue, instead specializing in doing acute care, long term recovery and rehabilitation. We operate as volunteer only, with all of our animals in the care of foster volunteers at their residence. There is no "farm" or building to come visit animals at this time and all of our services start with the application process found on this website.

The Furry Farm Rescue's Mission is to save dogs most at risk in our local shelter systems: be it medical, seniors or puppies and provide them with a safe environment to thrive again.
