My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lyla has it all - beauty, brains, sweetness, and that goofy puppy personality that makes you laugh out loud. This wonderful girl is looking for a family who will help her shine.

Lyla came to Cameron Animal Rescue when her former owners could no longer care for her. At 5 months old, she is smart, playful, silly, and high energy. She learns commands quickly, and is very treat and praise motivated. Lyla can also be shy with new people, in new situations, and with loud noises, and her new family must be patient with her, and continue to socialize her and expose her to new sights and sounds.

Lyla is a healthy girl. Her adoption includes - her complete series of DHLPPi (distemper), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; fecal testing and deworming; heartworm and flea/tick preventive for 1 month; spay; microchip; 30 days of free insurance.

Lyla loves other dogs, and would thrive in a home with an older, confident dog who can show her the ropes and teach her how to be brave in new situations. Lyla has lots of energy and loves running and playing with toys. Another dog to play with would be wonderful for her. She would do best in a a home with a fenced in yard, but that is not a strict requirement for those who have other exercise options for her.

More about this rescue

Cameron Animal Hospital has been located on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey, since 1936. The family-owned hospital is the first purposfully built animal hospital in the state of NJ, and provides veterinary services to cats, dogs, and other small animals, including rabbits, rats, ferrets, and more.

Cameron Animal Hospital is not a shelter, but works extensively with the rescue community in Essex County by providing veterinary care to local shelters, and finding homes to a variety of animals (cats, dogs, and small animals) who have come into our care.
