My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location

Shania is back at our rescue through no fault of her own.

This sweet 7-year-old Pyrenees mix has already spent 43 days with us at our Daviess County location, and she was previously adopted from another shelter—so she’s spent far too much of her life waiting.

Shania is wonderful with kids and is said to be good with cats and larger dogs (though she isn’t a fan of small dogs). A meet and greet with other dogs will be required. She is also believed to be housebroken, which makes her an even easier companion.

This gentle senior deserves a soft place to call home where she can spend her golden years being loved and cherished.

Can you be the one to give Shania the forever family she’s been waiting for?

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
