My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Albany, NY

Hi, I’m Dewy—the belly rub king!

I’m 6 months old, about 35 pounds of puppy charm, and still discovering this big, wild world. I haven’t seen everything yet, so sometimes I bark at new stuff (gotta keep my foster mom on her toes!), but I’m working with my mom and a trainer to learn to not be so scared. I even met a goat this week! I’m a heeler mix, but I’ve got a softer side—more snuggles, less herding.

I’m crate-trained, doing great with potty training, and I sleep through the night like a champ. I know sit, down, wait and touch. I am also working on scent training, and I am told I have quite a nose!

I may be new to all this, but I’ve got a big heart, a curious spirit, and a tail that never stops wagging. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful pup who’s ready to explore life by your side, I’m your guy  .  I need a patient owner who wants to continue training me.

By the time of adoption Dewy will have been dewormed two times, received his round of vaccinations, and been microchipped. He will go out on a spay/neuter contract. Email Sue (foster mom ACDRA) at  suesukup@gmail.com.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
